Metallic Nets for Aquaculture
Our metallic nets for aquaculture provide an integrated solution by serving two simultaneous functions: fish farming and protection against predators (fish cages and anti-predator nets). Our designs allow for pre-growth (from receptions of smolts), growth until harvest, or both in the same net, with it always serving as an anti-predator barrier—three functions in one solution. This simplifies operations and fish production, leading to reduced production costs. For instance, a single net can be used for salmon farming throughout its entire cultivation cycle. We also offer other designs, either for fattening alone with anti-predator capabilities (two functions in one), or exclusively as an anti-predator net. These solutions are suitable for fish farming, breeding and harvest sites.
The properties of these nets include secure biomass containment due to their high resistance to breakage and abrasion, making them suitable for dynamic high-energy environments. They provide structural cohesion to the floating cage production unit during stormy situations, both in offshore and inshore coastal environments. Our nets offer effective protection against predators such as sea lions, piranhas, and sharks. They exhibit low deformation under submarine currents, allowing for lower stocking densities, reducing stress, ensuring excellent oxygenation, and maintaining optimal environmental conditions for fish farming, thereby promoting high levels of fish welfare. Furthermore, it's important to mention that our nets have a long lifespan, contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, and are 100% recyclable, thus integrating into the circular economy. The fish species raised in our nets include Salmon, Cobia, Seriola, Dorado, Sea Bass, Barramundi, Tilapia, and Grouper.
